Salt Lake City has old brick storefronts downtown and along State Street, and newer concrete, stucco and metal buildings to the west and south. We plan the work around your opening hours and tenants, protect stock and floors, and put the schedule in writing.
We paint offices, shops, restaurants, warehouses, churches and apartment buildings in Salt Lake City and nearby towns. The city has old brick storefronts and warehouses downtown and along State Street, and many newer tilt-up concrete, stucco and metal panel buildings west of the freeway and in the south valley. Each surface needs its own primer and paint, so the first step is a walk of the building. We note the surfaces, the heights and the access before we write a price.
Commercial work is planned around the people who use the space. Tell us your opening hours, deliveries and any areas that cannot close, and we set out the order of work with you. We protect floors, stock and fixtures, post wet paint signs and keep exits clear. For apartments and rentals we can paint empty units between tenants or work through common areas in stages. The schedule is agreed in writing so your staff know which area is closed each day.
Outside, the sun fades signs, doors and south walls fast at this altitude, and winter road salt and snow piles wear the lower part of walls and bollards. Tough coatings are worth it in those spots. Painting itself does not normally need a city permit, but a lift or scaffold on a public sidewalk can. In older buildings, lead-safe rules can apply to homes and child care spaces. We tell you which rule applies before work is booked.
Commercial painting in Salt Lake City: common questions
Can you paint while our business is open?
Often, yes. We plan the job in sections so part of the space stays in use, and we use low-odor paint indoors. Ask us about working outside your opening hours. It depends on the job and the schedule, and we agree it in writing.
Do you paint apartment buildings and rentals?
Yes. We repaint empty units between tenants, and hallways, stairs and exteriors of multi-unit buildings. For a building with several units, send us the unit sizes and we will price it as one job.
Do I need a permit to paint a commercial building in Salt Lake City?
Painting is on the city's list of work that does not need a building permit. A new sign, a scaffold on the sidewalk or a change to a building in a local historic district is different. We check before the job.
