Interior & Exterior Painting services in West Valley City

West Valley City became a city in 1980, when Granger, Hunter, Chesterfield and Redwood joined together. Much of the housing is ramblers and split levels from the 1960s through the 1980s, on flat lots with little shade. Many have a brick front with aluminum, hardboard or vinyl siding on the sides and back, and wood fascia and soffits that take the weather first. The west side of the valley is open, so afternoon sun and wind hit south and west walls hard, and old paint on those sides chalks and fades years before the north side does. On aluminum siding we wash off the chalk and prime where the factory coat has worn through. Inside, most homes have textured drywall, and popcorn ceilings from that era are common. Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint under newer coats, so prep on those has to follow lead-safe rules.
